2018

One shared belief. A small room in Portland. A better way to work together.

Built slowly. Built to last.

The best teams weren’t short on ideas. They were short on clarity. We started Northstar to give every decision a home, every project an owner, and every team a shared direction.

    The first shared workspace

    Three founders, twelve design partners, and a very well-used whiteboard.

  2. 2019

    One hundred teams

    Word of mouth carried Northstar into studios, nonprofits, and two city governments.

  3. 2021

    A company without borders

    We became a distributed team, documenting decisions before adding meetings.

  4. 2023

    Northstar Decisions

    Our second product gave every choice an owner, a deadline, and a paper trail.

  5. 2026

    Still building with our customers

    Our independent team now works across Portland, London, and Copenhagen.
